Luke Dunstan
Hi does anyone now how to get off a stuck screw on sprocket. thanks will The Tarty Bikes guide is the best way. Failing that, Stick the sprocket in a vice and give the wheel a good twist. (this will most likely destroy the sprocket)
bobstar4575
i tried doing that today but it didnt come off. Also i am wanting to reuse the sprocket
DeVal
Not trying too be funny but just incase, you were turning the wheel anti clockwise to remove the sprocket? + a harsh jerking motion is best for crasking the seal. if the chain pulls out of the vice you need it tighter. Luke Dunstan
i tried doing that today but it didnt come off. Also i am wanting to reuse the sprocket Bigger leverage is needed, or a second pair of hands to help tease it loose.

Mark W
Bigger leverage is needed Often the case - if you keep the tyre on (and inflated) that usually helps a surprisingly large amount.
JD™
Often the case - if you keep the tyre on (and inflated) that usually helps a surprisingly large amount. Sounds surprising till you think of the numbers, with the tyre on and inflated the radius (so the length of your 'lever') is 13" on a stock wheel, so without must be about 11" which means you get an extra 18% leverage with the tyre on... Dunno why I bothered to work or write that out.
