Laurence--Trials
Thought this was a pretty unique pad so thought it could be worth a post. So here it is! http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/hs33_brake_pads/bbb_tie_fighter/c4p11652.html

Jamie_Trials
Look pretty stupid but smart at the same time. I've snapped a few of them teeth from the slave cylinders so this may be a good idea so the pressure is equal. Maybe if they're gonna give different material in there it'd be better. Laurence--Trials
I'm interested to see what they're like.. Split between them and heatsink blues.
Greetings
Are they trials specific?
Laurence--Trials
I was wondering that, due to the water clearing passage bits..
AdamR28
Are they trials specific? No. Tried a sample set on a bike with smooth rims though, felt pretty good, very good for the cash.

Not really sure, they seem too soft for XC use. What setup to go on?
Laurence--Trials
Not really sure, they seem too soft for XC use. What setup to go on? RB lever, plastic booster, because trial frame, very dead grind - smooth onza zoot rim.. I'm not very good at this: Whats the: card security coad and the issue number? NOT my card btw, just a google image. Edited September 22, 2011 by Laurence--Trials
AdamR28
Should be pretty good. Issue number (if you have one) is on the front, where it says 'Issue Number' (sorry, no other way to explain it!). If you don't have one it can be left blank. Security code is the last 3 numbers on the back where you sign.
Laurence--Trials
There we go, ordered them. Bit skeptical about them but hey. I'll post a review in a week or so. am i the first person to order the pads adam? or arn't you aloud to answer that?

J.KYDD
I expect they'd be pretty good in the wet. The Onza Citrus' are great in the wet as the channels allow the water to escape. I'm tempted to buy a pair to try in the wet, probs for the front. Especially as they are so cheep
Laurence--Trials
Theres no bit which said issue number on it though, i fingered it out in the end though.

Laurence--Trials
Got the pads today first impressions on them (looks) are decent, look better than they do on the pictures, nice purple-blue colour. Back of the pad looks pretty cool too, with a shiny metal insert. Something thats got me a little worried about their power is the fact that they're 5mm shorter than the normal pad in a plastic power pad backing but is a mm bigger in width. They feel like quite a weighty pad too, unsure of the weight and lets be honest, in a pad its irrelevant. Will come back with a review on how they perform on my first ride with them. My set up will be: Magura standard clamps alu washers magura slaves RB lever / lever body (thanks dave33) kevilar hose, no splitter. Dead grind on an onza zoot rim. Luke Rainbird
5mm shorter but a mm wider will pretty much give the same sort of surface area really, so I wouldn't worry there - if you want to get really into it just look at all the short "performance" pads that've been out over the years
JDâ„¢
Forgive my ignorance, having never put a pad into a backing, but could you put a 'decent' compound into these backings? I get a LOT of wobble from my pads when running brakes but don't think I could get away from using my Zoo! pads... EDIT: Clearly the dimensions could be an issue too, but put that to one side. ghostrider88
of course you can, just need to cut them to fit.
Mark W
I don't know how well they'd hold in place, mainly because of the random shape of the inside of the backings...
