Chris King And Horizontal Dropouts

Typical me, got a competition on sunday and haven't sorted my bike out. Basically got a speedrace fans frame with horizontal dropouts and a Chris king classic hub with fun bolts. The bolt seems way oversized to run snail cams. I have echo tr cams. Is there a way round it like drilling out the snail cams or due to the large clamping bolt will I get away without?

you could give it a try without cam's, however i'm pretty sure the driveside will end up getting pulled forward after a few pedal kicks, also the serrated steel ends on the heavy duty axles have a habit of braking/cracking if you over tighten the fun bolts,

your best bet is as you suggested, drill out your tr cam's to 12mm and you should be golden, i drilled out the driveside on a tr cam to 12mm when i had my zhi z3 and it worked perfect, if drilling it out is a no go then a rat tail file followed by a lot of sweating and swearing is another option.

Drill out a snail cam and run it on the drive side only, it will not force the frame out too much and it will keep the hub from moving forward during pedaling, I know many riders who have used thier CK's like this with no problems (Y)

Cheers for the help guys, I'll go and give it a try shortly. I am pretty sure I will only get a away with the one snail cam in there though atm as said.

If they are the chro-moly cams you can forget drilling them, you'll touch the surface but then it just hardens and you'll get no further.
