JD™
Is anyone else finding that links from topics here are now going via a site called redirectingat.com and that it's not working at all? Figure it's a problem Tom/Danny will see anyway, but here's the inevitable topic about it, unless it's only me it's happening for...
Jamie_Trials
I'm not getting anything like that, maybe you've got some kinda malware
Greetings
Everything seems fine to me, no sign of that website in any of the links.
JD™
Think it's more in links to specific products, whether it's the forum or the retailer that's sending it through skimlinks I dunno... Either way links to products dont seem to be working for me, and I know redirectingat/skimlinks to be a good service.
dann2707
not for me neither
JD™
OK, do me a favour and check the links in this specific post? Seems it's actually CRC using it - doesn't surprise me as it's a very retail thing to do - it's to track sales from forums just like these. dann2707
Nope just goes straight to chain reaction cycles link. Nothing in bottom left when you hover over link either.

It's just doing it's job for you then, which is annoying for me really. With skimlinks you're never meant to see the redirect address, because it just works. Obviously some combination of my setup that doesn't like that service.

JD™
Delete history ASAP. They're onto you. Legitimate service. They're not. I was merely wondering if it were something TF had put into place to get stats for advertisers (or more specifically potential advertisers) which wasn't working (thus alerting them to it), or the end retailers doing it. Turns out it's the latter, and possibly a fault with my setup, so no need to worry.

We're trialling skimlinks at the moment (have been for a couple of weeks) - is that link in the topic you posted just taking you to the CRC homepage? Or simply not working? Got any weird adblock thingies or greasemonkey scripts running?

Or simply not working? Got any weird adblock thingies or greasemonkey scripts running? I'd noticed it a couple of times but couldn't remember where so didn't know if they were all CRC or not. The first one in that post takes me to http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=19929X772896&site=trials-forum.co.uk&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.chainreactioncycles.com%2FModels.aspx%3FModelID%3D28021&sref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.trials-forum.co.uk%2Ftopic%2F168306-avid-elixir-for-a-rear-brake-on-mod%2Fpage__p__2334501%23entry2334501 which just gives me an 'oops' page in Chrome. 2nd link does the same. Nothing running but a clean install of Chrome. OSX Lion.
Dwarf Shortage
I'm getting linked to redirect.com as well, vanilla Chrome, WXP. Edited September 14, 2011 by Dwarf Shortage

I'll email skimlinks support a link to this thread and see if they have anything to say I'm getting linked to redirect.com as well, vanilla Chrome, WXP. Thats correct behaviour, unless you're not ending up in the right place.
Sam T
Happening to me as well when clicking on the CRC link. Also, when i clicked onto a link ( forgotten which one ), it took me onto the 'Youtube Downloader' homepage sort of thing?
LukasMcNeal
What exactly are skim links?
JD™
What exactly are skim links? Skimlinks is the company that provide the service - basically used for sites to monitor exactly where their traffic and sales are coming from. Nothing to worry about

Dwarf Shortage
Thats correct behaviour, unless you're not ending up in the right place. Sometimes it works, sometimes it hangs on the redirect page for a while, and then either works or I get page not found.
