Good day, gents !

So, my Avid Code 5 doesn't have much hold.

Im thinking of changing the brake for a better one.

I could get a Avid Elixir 2011 for 75 Eur.

And im talking about the rear brake on a mod, got a 160mm hope rotor.

Any advice/comments on the Elixir would be great, specially from people who have

personal experience with them.

Thanks in advance.

Go for the shimano deore M596, they are amazing.

You'd have to be an idiot to buy one of those when just over a fiver more will get you one of these.

If you're wanting uncompromising stopping power though, this will beat any avid, hayes, hope (so long as it's not a mono trial) on power.
