Revolver
Sloped top cap, you say? That probably won't work. Are you sure you've got the right star nut for the forks?

Yeah, I don't have a star nut in at the moment, evey time i try fit it it's like it too small. I've got a sloped top cap but i was wondering if that other thing would fit it. I want to use the bottom of this and use my sloped top cap with it.
Revolver
You do have to hit them quite hard to get them to go in. Pics of said star nut with said steerer tube, lets see if it's the right one.

I've tried the smallest sizes, but the trialtechs seem to be much thicker inside, I've smashed 3 starnuts to death trying to get it to fit with no luck. Revolver
The thing is, trialtech forks have an alloy steerer, which means it's thicker, which means you need a smaller star nut for it. This means you need a smaller headlock too, so that thingy you posted, will definitely not fit. They are a dick to get in. Put a bolt in there and hit the bolt, and try not to get it in at an angle. Meh, well i'll give it another go. It's just after smashing so many i thought it would be near on impossible. Thanks anyway
Mark W
If you use the 'Small' starnut and you use the proper tool it's not so bad. I've installed a few on my Inspired and Trialtech forks and they've been fine.
Matt Vandart
If you havn't got the tool: hold the star nut with thin long nosed pliers on the barrel bit between the 'stars' hit the bolt. Continue hitting the bolt whilst holding the 'barrel bit' with the pliers until the first star disappears into the steer tube. The nut should go in tidy beans without the pliers now. Not ideal but it works. You have to hit it hard, sharp and accurately.
