Double Disc Stock.

right, got my eyes in a double disk simtra and just wanted to know what you people think of the idea of double disc. wether or not its better than a maggie on the rear or disc??

I ran one for about 2 months on my Yaabaa, had its good points and bad points but I changed back to Magura and I much prefer it.

Bad points:

- Lacks hold on square edges / where load is applied very quickly

- Noticeable weight over rear axle

- Spoke flex

Good points:

- Good hold on rounded edges / where load is applied slowly

- No need to regrind after you get a puncture / change tyre

- Good in the wet / mud

- Silent (good or bad i guess)

I never had it slip out on me or anything. The main problem I had was lack of hold on square edges and the weight. Was very good for rounded rocks eg Dartmoor though.

thanks mate, thats pretty much everything i was after ha, aslong as it doesnt slip then i suppose its worth a try. the bike im buying comes with a mono trial on the rear so even if i dont get along with it i can always switch like you said.
