Azarathal
Heya guys, looking at getting some 180mm, post mount hope techs, found a pair of V2's for a decent price and I'm wondering how they'd hold up to Trials?
Laurence--Trials
benito uses them on his koxx sky. Enough said.
Azarathal
Sure he uses the v2's and not x2's? The official hope website doesnt recommend them for trials, I just thought I'd post here as I can't miss an oppotunity such as this.
F.N.G
But will they fit Normal trials frames? , I thought they only fit the Koxx Sky 2 and other mountain bikes
Azarathal
IS to Post mount. Means I'm forced to run a minimum of a 180mm rotor but I'm sick of having a poor brake due to the disc being off center (I'm terrible at setting up discs ) Hydraulic discs on a post mount fitting are stupidly easy to center (loosen bolts, spin wheel, press and hold brake, tighten bolts) and with the tech lever It'll mean I can fine tune my brake to how I like it. F.N.G
Oh, Completely forgot about Is to post mount thing . Yes the tech levers are extremely easy to set up, If I find theres to much pull and too less power, I can adjust it in seconds Edited September 5, 2011 by F.N.G
Luke Dunstan
use a BB7. They pretty much set themselves up and work perfectly. Edited September 5, 2011 by Luke Dunstan
Azarathal
Not liking the idea of bb7 rear due to flexy calipers and cable flex in the longer cable. I also want tech levers because I'm stupidly picky with reach and bite point.
Rockman
If it's the V2 they are meant to be good, the X2's have really small pistons so aren't the best for trials, I would avoid them.
Azarathal
Well I think I've got the guy to hold the brakes for me so I've got a week or so to decide. Anyone have any first hand experiances?
