Hi whats the best width for handle bars iv got 630mm on at the moment and im finding them a bit twitchy would wider bars be less sensitive atb ade

Its personal preference, but ive found it depends on your size, build and width of your shoulders.

I personally prefer WIDE bars, 29+ inches, but ive got quite broad shoulders.

Im 6"1 with wide shoulders an iv got a zona zenith with 26 inch wheels if that helps

On my Zenith I ran old zoo bars ( 29" ) and always thought they were a bit wide to be honest. my 720mm Viz bars seem perfect for me, its really personal preference though mate... try some other bars if you can? or maybe go to smaller bars to see if the problem is exacerbated. :)

Id go the other way actually. borrow the widest bars you can, then put the grips as far to the end as possible and see how it feels. If its too wide, move the grips in till it feels perfect, then measure the lenth from outside of the grip to outside of the other grip.

Yeh i meant for it to come across as get some longer bars if you can...but if you dont have access to trials or DH bars, he could always chuck a skinnier xc bar or whatever he had kicking round :)

Moving the grips in is a sound idea though.
