Revolver
Pro tip from the guys at onza - use a spoke, poke it out through the bleed hole.

Theta2
Guessing you're talking about an '05-'10 lever there?

Matthew62
If it's the lever piston you want out then just put it in the freezer for a few minutes. You'll hear it pop so you'll know when it's ready.
Laurence--Trials
Okay..? bit strange.. but its in the freezer now.

Laurence--Trials
its just the body and piston.. no water.. its not bled or anything..
Revolver
Would've thought it needs to be full of water for that to work.
Matthew62
I didn't expect for a minute that'd you'd put it in the freezer bled. Should just be in as a whole lever with no fluid.

Matthew62
Depends on how cold your freezer is but i'd say under 10 mins.
Laurence--Trials
still no luck yet, its very close to the top and i've had a go at pulling it out with plyers but they just slip off and cant grap it. Your saying it will pop completely out by itself?
Greetings
WD40 around the piston, let it soak through. Worked for me.

Your saying it will pop completely out by itself? If it's moving then it's working. I mean mine just shot out when i did it, but in your case it seems it's a bit more stubborn. Just be patient. The temperature is just contracting the piston slightly meaning it should slip out easily. Sounds like you're almost there.
Laurence--Trials
wont it contract the body also meaning its the same size? sounds like you want to freeze everything then take it out and dip it in boiling water...
Revolver
Probably the rubber, which is less dense, will contract first. That would make sense! But in an old lever where the piston has seized it might not contract enough. Get some bleed pipe or an old bit of hose, cram it in a pump, foot pump will do, and use that now, whilst it's cold.
