krazykid009
My Inspired died whilst on holiday the other week, so thought I may as well put up some pics for all to see. The chainstay had snapped entirely through the drop-out, and 90% of the way through the BB end. it took a small tap on the side from my hand for it to completely fall away. There is also a crack around the entire toptube just in front of the seat tub, and numerous more cracks in the remaining dropouts. I admit I am a particularly heavy handed rider, and brakeless does take it's toll on bikes which normal trials doesn't. Anyhow here are the pictures. Bit worried now as Inspireds are one of the strongest frames out there, so if I can obliterate one of these, I must be able to do anything. I've just purchased an old style Onza Zoot, so let's see how it holds up! It would be interesting to see how many Inspireds have actually snapped, as I can't recall many off the top of my head. (You can just see part of the top tube crack in this one!) Thanks James Ps. This is frame no. 6 that I have destroyed. I will have been riding 1 year as of the end of this month. The list is as follows: - Giant Boulder - Da Bomb CR8 - Diamondback Kabuki Mono - Onza Bird 09 - Neon Bow 09 - Inspired Fourplay Edited August 19, 2011 by krazykid009

Must be well over a year? I have a feeling a Zoot will be added to that list before very long at all...
krazykid009
Must be at least 2 or 3. It was Ben Rowlands old one, so when I got it there was a small crack in the toptube which I believe you drilled at tartydays? The rear end however was intact wiht no cracks or signs of stress. I think my problem originally was that I was trying to do streety stuff on compy style bikes. Seems streety stuff for me will destroy anything! I hope the zoot won't be though! Am broke at the moment, and looking at my mates there seems to be loads of excess bracing on the rear triangle. AdamR28
Ah yes, very old frame then, extremely impressive it's taken that much abuse! Keep an eye on the Zoot where the seatstays join the seat tube...

Ever had any returned to your shop? Thanks James

Laurence--Trials
What the f**k... How an earth? Arn't they like the strongest frame on the market too!?!? Good luck with your zoot.
krazykid009
True actually, the bird wasn't destroyed.... mind you I sold it because I got extremely worried as it's not the strongest of frames out there. I too thought the Inspireds were the strongest frames out there....seems I was wrong, well maybe this particular one at least. James
Alex Dark
To be fair thats a very old frame that looks like its had the shit kicked out of it... any aluminium frame will break eventually, it's just fatigue.
Linus
If the frame is over 2 or maybe 3 years old it's not that suprising it will break? Even though it's a strong frame.

Skoze
Don't worry about frame strength dude, you only broke this because it's had about 3 years of absolute hell before you got near it and thrashed it yourself. No frame will take that well! My Leeson (which you rode saturday) had the same happen, the whole driveside chain and seat stays got ripped off it by the guy who had it before me
