OAP
Ok I did a search (several in fact) and came up with nothing. So I have to ask i'm afraid and apologies if it's been asked before, but .. has anyone had any experience of these yet (HS 11 2011 or Echo TR 2011), by way of a comparison. Im going to upgrade my brakes and I can't decide between the two. I prefer to run an antifreeze/water mix, but that's not a religion, just the way I have my old maggies set up. Also (for info) I run heatsink pads front and rear. Any info or advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers all.
Luke Dunstan
Magura. Tried and tested. Good with water bleeds.
aener
I can't speak in defence of the Magura, but my Echo was nothing great. It was really spongy even with a booster (not the fault of the frame or bleed. Other brakes were fine on the frame and tried several re-bleeds), and they can't hold water bleeds. BradJohnson
Magura hs33 05. Tried the hs11 2011 they leak, a few people have had the same problem too.

bike_dummie
My echo tr on magura slaves with a zoo modified zoo booster is better than my previous magura, very stiff can hold a water bleed but i run oil.
dannytrialskid
Dont like my Echo TR at all. Going Magura.
Philly_Biker
Got the ECHO TR front disc brake with 180mm rotor. Was not impressed by the power. Also had a slight seep and only had riden the bike a couple of times. Returned that brake. They may have not been completely broken in as well. Takes a while being that a trials bike gearing does not have a high speed to slow down from. Scrapped the ECHOs. Got Magura lousie brake with carbon lever and on the fly adjustment and 203mm rotor. Night and day difference. The magura brake has boatloads of power. Lever feels great, very little pull is needed for lots of brake power. I think they are still breaking in so they are just getting better. Magura has 5 year leak warrenty. I have always been happy with Magura. Go with Magura you wont regret it. According to maguras manual the the only thing more powerful than a lousie with 203mm rotor is the Gustav brake which i believe is specifically designed for freeride/dH if you are looking for even more power. Carlperkins
i'd go with magura, i got the 2011 hs33 and the lever did start to have a little leak in the lever after a month or 2, not sure where it was coming from, however i re-bled it and then it was fine for a few months, then traded it for a echo tr lever. echo lever, magura slaves, trialtech hose splitter, tnn lgms, trialtech booster and a good grind = POWERRRRR!! isitafox
I've had my 2011 HS11's since they came out and not had a problem. Still running the original magura blood with no leaks whatsoever as far as I can tell, I'd rather stick with this than a TR as I don't like the short levers on the Echo. Carlperkins
i think maybe if you get them and dont mess with them they may be fine, i was constantly taking mine apart and re-bleeding (cos i run mine through stem). maybe thats the issue?
