Hey my friend is having trouble with his star-nut he cant get it into his forks he's tried hitting it in with a pole and a hammer but when he tried getting the old star-nut out of the forks it just fell to pieces so he thought it might happen doing this. So i was wondering is there anyway to get a star nut into the forks with out smashing it to pieces.

Cheers, Grant

Put a bolt in the star nut and hit the bolt.

Or borrow the tool from somewhere. The tool is like a bolt with a wide thing on top you can hit, so it's roughly the same.

Sometimes they are hard to get started, just persevere. Also, don't hit them in wonky. Try your hardest not to, at least.

Think of it this way the tighter it goes in the more serure it will be to tighten your forks too! :)

True but make sure it's the actual right size. As I was given a larger one than desired just to get me by whilst waiting for a tarty order. It went in stupidly tight and the flanges just snapped. It was bound to happen like. Gave no integrity what so ever.
