RossMcd
Hey! Had a thought today... Seeing as I only have a disc mount on my frame, and prefer the feel to a magura... I thought about an adaptor that would allow you to run a magura without having magura mounts on the frame. So I designed a rough idea of what im thinking of on PRO/Desktop. Its a rough idea. Its not to scale or anything. What are your thoughts... Would it work? If it was to work it would be a handy piece of kit of someone like me, that has a lack of maggy mounts, allow them to run a magura. Most frames only give you the choice of having a magura or disc. And its a pain in the butt! So yeah! Discuss
piperfraz
Cool idea, I don't know anything much about mounts but I wanna see if this would be possible
Little Yoshi
Would be flex as fluff. But nice idea.
RossMcd
Would be flex as fluff. But nice idea. Even with a booster? And it would be bolted to the axle and disc mount. You would be able to run a booster underneath too. And Then find a way of neatly clipping it to the frame. Such as small jubillee clips etc.
Little Yoshi
Maybe if you find some way of clipping it to the frame. And I'm sure a booster would help aswell. But thats still alot of metal to flex.
JDâ„¢
What about a few mounts along it's length holding it to the frame... Something like the way hope brake levers have a split clamp to hold them to the bars?
forteh
In theory it will work, you would need to jubilee clip it to the seatstays in at least three places per side I would have though. Only problem I can see is that there is no adjustment on the disk tab mounting holes (assuming its going to be on a horisontal dropout frame). Jake.
Good idea, it would need to be clipped to the frame though (as said in above posts) but it would be flexy as hell, you'd need a strong booster. Personally I'd stick to disk if I had a disk only frame, if you want magura, get a magura compatible frame...
Gaz96
Good idea but one thing I think wouldnt work is how will your maggie mounts be screwed in? I see theres holes for the mounts but what about threads for the bolts? You could make threads in the frame could you? Would like to be proved wrong thoughRealised you could use the braze on 4bolt mounts
DeVal
surely if your going to have to start clipping and securing the top of that mount it would be much easier and lighter if you designed a universal magura clip/bolt on mount rather than having all the excess attached down to the axle etc. the only problem i could see then is how you would get around the fact that the rears of most frames are considerably different in shape and size. wolf_rt
Tie it on with hose clamps.. The Long bars to the axle could be just to set the height... Or.. Bind it on with string!! Im not joking, would be super strong as long as the bracket was hard up against the frame. And look cool (In a Mad Max kind of way)you could even coat (Soak) the string in Epoxy Resin for extra strength and permanance.
