London Riots

Okay, i'll be submissive and not express my point of view to my annoyance of you and your chums, so all we get is your opinions unchallenged. What a world.

I'm contributing to this thread with information i'm getting that might either help or enlighten people.

My responses to you are just being lumped in as funnily enough i like to have my say, just the same as yourself.

I'm not taking sides here. I merely explained a moderating decision to someone else who asked about it. But you then come in mouthing off again, which is odd as you apparently don't care.

Anyways... back on topic to the riots.

Any more abuse towards other members, inflammatory posts and insensitive jokes about all this (made by any member) will be deleted and that person will be off the forum for a couple of days.

That's not good to hear at all! Where are you getting this from?

A police friend (who knows and agrees with my thoughts that they should stop fingering their arses - but they aren't allowed to) who has apparently been breifed that they know exactly what's going to happen and when. I'll be weirded out if it does happen, because why the f**k aren't they just STOPPING it if they know when and where? Leannes been informed but we're both aware it could just be scare tactics so she's staying put until she knows otherwise... Luckily she's been moved to the building opposite for the day anyway.

A planned attack has been announced on the Whitgift shopping centre at 12 noon. Girlfriend works there. I'm 40 miles away. f**k f**k f**k, fingers crossed for a rumour or some f**king miraculous appearance of police intervention for once.

I don't even really know what to say to that. My heart really goes out to you both.

I always find that ridiculous. "oh, we know something's going to happen. Let's just wait 'til it does..."

If that was how it worked, would the scummers not just say "Yeah let's go get this place" when the Police send everyone there, they just go somewhere else and it takes the Police longer to respond.

Camberwell and Surrey Quays are being evacuated now.

My route home is potentially going to be tricky....and i sure as eggs ain't going through Peckham.

I hope you don't ride your trials bike to work!? You'd be hard pressed to outrun a gang with those silly gear ratios.

Good luck anyway.

This got sent to my friend who goes to uni in southhampton by one of his friends. Not to join in but they are not happy/ abit worried about it. I don't know how serious it is.

Yeah, that probably had to come.. Stupid c**ts always trying to make their town 'better' than the other one in the wrong way.

I'm off to read what the newspaper has to say about it all over here.

Read the newspaper now. Nothing written at all, except 'youths fighting the police for the third day in london - 160 arrested'

Doesen't seem to be very accurate, but better than making stuff up about it.

Still don't really get how people can go and smash up their hometowns.. :(

Feel like I should have come over on at the beginning of the holidays. I always feel at home imidiately and now strangely enough feel a bit affected too..

Good luck to all who needs it! Hope it'll stop soon..

When you say 'evacuated', which level do you mean to? Just shops and businesses?

Yea, sorry I need to take a deep breath because I've got info coming from all angles and I'm trying to spread it around everywhere that might give a toss. Quality of information has gone downhill, so I'll slow down.

Leanne called to say that her department store is being evacuated and closed, as are all the other businesses in the immediate area. I can only 100% vouch for hers because she's already left, but she says it seems like the everywhere else bit is true too. I don't believe that homes are being evacuated, because it'd just give the rioters a playground as far as I'm concerned.
