Simpson
I found it very interesting how the various reporters chose how to negotiate that comment. Just so I'm clear, I'm not a racist in the slightest and I understand that the riots are happening in very multi cultural areas of London so the majority of residents probably aren't white anyway. But yea the group looting were defiantly a majority black.
Pete.M
Makes me sick. Now some idiots have planned riots for Glasgow and Edinburgh for absolutely no reason. I don't even know where to begin on this topic! Angry Pete is angry.
RobinJI
If you had something to shout and fight about, and some faceless rozzer suppressed you, what would you do? You'd get organised and start coordinating your attacks, which is exactly what's starting to happen, (in a rather hap-hazard fashion). They don't have something to fight about though....7 Hurry up with the harsh shit, I'm generally about as liberal as it gets, but this really IS a time for zero tolerance. As I've said, my brother lives in London, and I'm not particularly keen on his life being ruined because some morons with no real cause think they're being cool kids and protesting. There was a clip of 30-40 of them running through the street smashing things up . I just can't believe further action isn't being taken already. People are in danger, there's damage on a massive scale and it's clearly sending a message to the rest of the uk that nobody is going to stop this kind of behaviour. I mean, 3 days! It shouldn't have carried on past the end of day one.

Krisboats
Not just the rest of the UK, we're pretty much a laughing stock to the rest of the world now. I meant it in the sense that riots are spreading nationwide, not globally.
Matthew62
Beleive me, matts post wasn't easy to misconstrue. What he wrote before it was edited was very direct and abusive towards a certain member and i think tomm was very reserved not to have sent him on a vacation for it as i know i would have. The first part of bold text in tomms post refers to matt. The second line of bold text refers to everyone else who may not be affected by whats going on so come in here for keyboard warrior points. Oh come on - the synopsis of my comment was that i was tired of his miserable, insensitive comments. Hardly particularly harsh. Find it bizarre how because i explained myself clearly my comments are directly abusive, yet someone through nothing but sheer ignorance can be hurtful to the many riders in London and the greater population being directly affected by this - but hey that's ok! Of course i was angry towards him, i mean how ignorant is it possible for you to be? What motive is there behind posting a comment about a lack of compassion - it's not conducive to a debate, nor is it helpful, it's just provocative - and f**k, guess what it worked. Yet despite this you're taking a firm stance with me for expressing my opposing view in the face of such stupidity. I'm no way near the chap, if i lived in close proximity i'd only be too happy to abusive him directly to his face, but as this is the only method of communication i have with him i thought i'd use it. It was particularly horrid or abusive and can you not see Ali's comment as equally offensive? Me: Directly angry (apparently abusive) towards one person. Ali: Insulting, ignorant and horrid to a great number of people. Just so I'm clear, I'm not a racist in the slightest and I understand that the riots are happening in very multi cultural areas of London so the majority of residents probably aren't white anyway. But yea the group looting were defiantly a majority black. No i wasn't suggesting you were at all, but nearly all suburbs of London are mixed. There are pockets of high density single ethnicity, but pretty much everywhere has a good collection of races so it is somewhat confusing to see such singular movements... JDâ„¢
So when Hitler invaded Poland, we of course took the right action. However, if we'd put some swear words into the declaration of war we'd have been in the wrong?
Skoze
Absolutely ridiculous, everyone's just doing it because there's literally nothing to stop them. What do the police do? Stand there and go "err, lads, don't do that" Need to get tough and need to got tough soon. Can see Southend coming next, Nando's got it last night and someone got stabbed in Hamlet court road, but that always happens... Time to get the crossbow out the loft.

What an incredibly compelling argument. Insult away as long as you don't throw the odd f**k in there. So am i right in thinking aggression ranks as a more serious (warn worthy) issue than insensitivity. Makes such clear, resounding sense. No no no what I mean is from a totally neutral point of view I find it pretty upsetting that I find myself blaming black gangs specifically, because there are a lot of white idiots out there. Can see Southend coming next, Nando's got it last night and someone got stabbed in Hamlet court road, but that always happens... I was about to say I got arrested for "criminal damage" to Nando's in Southend, I didn't get taken away but my mate spent a night in cells! haha
Matthew62
I know i get it, i don't think your comments came across at all racist. P.S. Picture here of a woman jumping from her flat that's being burnt to the ground. That must of been nice for her. I see how it's so easy not to care. , I'm conscious i'm coming across as a raving looney - but after a night of constant miserable images and the smell in the air of the town burning down, wondering will my street be next.... having to listen/watch such ignorant comments has somewhat struck a wee cord with me, so i do hope you'll understand that in some form. Flaming Minimum Penalty - 1 Warning Point While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Well if you really want to look at it ali's post was not aimed at anyone, so not a personal attack. It wasn't insulting and while it might have been a little rude, it was more insensitive than anything. So it only really falls under purposeless and inflammatory. Your post covered each of those bases though. So yeah, you were certainly more "warn worthy" as you put it.
JDâ„¢
See those flames behind her? In there is the flat of a friend of mine who was thankfully out last night. There's a massive cleanup operation going on in Croydon right now, and one of the instructions they've been given is to remove any wooden signage from the roads and shop fronts - they are fully expecting tonight to be worse than last night. I'm almost ready to be wrapping some petrol soaked t-shirts round some fence posts and going old school vigilante... The problem is, the next step is that some people will have that thought and be nuts enough to do it - then we've got a full scale PROBLEM. Matthew62
To Kris: I'll be honest chum. In the face of what's going on outside at the moment, your little internet forum rules aren't all that interesting to me. I know this place needs good order to work well and what not, and i get it under the very sensible guidlines my comments deserve my very important warn, but i'll level with you - while the streets are on fire i'm going to make like the wonderful Ali C, and just not care. Jason: Glad to hear your friend was out of harms way - still must be awful to have their home destroyed. My girlfriend is in talks with the Police at the mo around Oxford Circus and the current update is that the might be enforcing a curfew tonight..... Matthew62
Okay, i'll be submissive and not express my point of view to my annoyance of you and your chums, so all we get is your opinions unchallenged. What a world. I'm contributing to this thread with information i'm getting that might either help or enlighten people. My responses to you are just being lumped in as funnily enough i like to have my say, just the same as yourself.
Simpson
To Essex Lads out there, Lakeside shopping centre has been shut from reports of approaching gangs - I phoned my Mum and she was on her way there, got her to turn that shit around, I advise you do the same. MonsieurMonkey
Shit son! Lol. I love that. Anyway, there's some students in Liverpool cleaning stuff up, seems like a good idea. I hate the fact that those living off nothing to make the world a more educated and better place are cleaning up the mess of those that live off taxes. JDâ„¢
A planned attack has been announced on the Whitgift shopping centre at 12 noon. Girlfriend works there. Lukas; dunno if i'm honest mate just going on other people, so many federales out last night though. I was fully out of my head though so it's all a bit hazy (yeah, drinking when it could all kick off was a great idea...)
