KNOBIS!
Hi all, My main question is how to fix what i think is a lazy piston on my HS33. My front right pad wont retract by itself.. i can push it back with my hand but when i pull the lever it will move out but then not retract. Any ideas? Also my left crank constantly works itself loose :/ endlessly having to tighten it up. Any ideas on that or is this normal? Thanks! piperfraz
Not sure about the brake, but what kind of crank have you got? Have you made sure the crank bolt is fully tightened?
BurlyBox
on new bikes you will have to regularly tighten your cranks and if im right you bought your bike brand new not so long ago... i may be thinking of someone else but i hink it was you. anyway theres not much you can do about that except keep tightening it and it will stay tight eventually. with your piston try WD-40 on it. it solves alot of problems and someone else recently tried it to sort the same problem. you can buy new pistons though but see if you can get it freely moving first. Alex Dark
Get the brake off the bike, extend the pistons by depressing the lever. Remove pads and spray wd40 onto the now visible pistons; clean with a rag/ kitchen roll, tooth brush etc to remove any gunk. Now release lever and continue to pump the lever. When you've done this a few times, extend the pistons again and put a few drops of 3in1 oil on them. This should sort the problem out.
