bikeperson45 Posted August 4, 2011 Report Share Posted August 4, 2011 Basically my headset is fully tightened at the top cap but I can still see it wobbling at the bottom of the headtube. I'd rather get advice and find out what the problem is before looking at it because I have the brake cable through there and it's pretty mangled so would be difficult to get it back down there again. trev Posted August 4, 2011 Report Share Posted August 4, 2011 try adding another small spacer on the fork steerer (over or under the bars). if there is not enough room between the top cap and the top of the fork steerer you will get play even though it seems that there should be enough room to tighten it all the way. Ali C Posted August 4, 2011 Report Share Posted August 4, 2011 try adding another small spacer on the fork steerer (over or under the bars). if there is not enough room between the top cap and the top of the fork steerer you will get play even though it seems that there should be enough room to tighten it all the way. this, make sure your topcap isn't touching the steerer.
