Been riding my Phase for a few weeks now and feel its almost time to swap out for single speed - getting fed up of the chain jumping

I'm a bit of noob with these things so just thought I should check if everything would work together or if any improvements could be made.

Here's what I'm thinking of getting:

18 tooth sprocket

single speed spacers (silver)

lockring (probably in purple)

tensioner

I'm not to sure about the tensioner, i.e what difference does a sprung or fixed tensioner make? and is there any difference between one or two wheels on the sprung tensioner? Also, is it work buying a single speed chain?

Thanks :)

that spacer kit isnt in stock mate, get the hope one. sprung tensioners actually keep the chain tight unlike fixed.doesnt really matter what kind of tensioner it is im using a cheapy £10 one and its better than the tensile two cage i had before if you can afford it get a rohloff, as for the chain yes get a kmc kool chain

ok sounds good then :)

and I know what you mean sirBolton, that's why I'm just doing it this way for now - the hub on the phase isn't that great so i'll wait till it goes then see what my options are. Can't afford anything too fancy atm :(

I bought a DMR revolver hub with an ACS claw freewheel for my 1.1, and think it's made a hell of a difference. You're quite limited with choices on the hub if you want to keep the rim though as it has 36 holes, and there don't seem to be many 36h hubs around.

How many engagement points has that got?

Hey thorn if you have trouble looking for a wheel keep a eye out on the for sale section i picked up my rear hope hub on echo rim on here also just to let you know me and nick are heading up norwich sunday for a little ride we could head up and have a look through some of the bike shops and meet a few other riders aswell.

yeh i've been having a look in there, just trying to decide whether its worth getting a new hub now or just getting a single speed kit and then getting a new wheel when I get better :/ I know i'll make a poll!

I don't think I'm doing anything sunday so should be able to come (Y) I'll send shawn a text and see what he says then let you know

£10 :o thats much better than the £50-odd most seem to cost

If I got a wheel with a fixed hub would I be able to put one of the ACS claw freewheels on it? (or another type if I find one cheep on here)

there's a reason there £10 you have to take into account the possible dentist bill on top after you smash your teeth in
