piperfraz
Ok, to be honest I know very little about BBs. I'm looking to get a new square taper one, and I'm looking at either the Trialtech Race, Echo VP or Because. I was wondering if anyone had used any of these and could give me any pointers? Cheers
Greetings
Whichever square taper you choose, it's not going to be as strong or as good as an ISIS system. Your taper will round off on the cranks and sooner or later the axle will snap. It's happened to most of us I think. As far as I know all those bb's are just OEM products. Personally I'd trust Trialtech's choice of BB and go for that.
piperfraz
How long would it last though?
Kieran Morrison
How long would it last though? It will be fine fraser any if them are good im running some random bb and its fine. Why do you need a new one anyway?

My one started making a horrible clunking noise, I took it out to grease it but it's a sealed unit so there are no threads to grease... Looks like I'll go for the Trialtech Happy 1,000th post btw
Manus-Rider
When i used square taper i used the because bb and it seemed smooth and strong, but isis is alot better and you have a bigger range off parts.
piperfraz
Has anyone used the trialtech to give me an opinion on it?
LukasMcNeal
I've used a trialtech one, they're nothing special pretty much all square tapers are the same design and construction. It will be fine but when you can upgrade to Isis its worth doing.

Looks like I'll go for the Trialtech Happy 1,000th post btw The threads are on the outside, you'll probably just need a bit of grease on them and a good tightening afterwards. Should solve most BB related issues...

Cap
Your taper will round off on the cranks Doesn't happen if you keep your cranks tight, I used the same Square taper middleburns for a year or two without rounding them off I did snap a few bb's though!
