DeVal
So ive noticed alot of the top brand stuff is sold out and/or on order at most of the top trials parts websites and have been for over a month in most cases.(at least the parts i want which granted are popular). Im just wondering the reason for such a long turnaround time on new parts, surely if they are popular they would pump them out the production line. IS it metal prices or something similar? Mark W
Trials stuff isn't made in huge quantities just because it's not really possible to do so for most manufacturers. If the manufacturers want to make something (especially something new), it takes a pretty long time to get everything sorted out in Taiwan/China (where most things are made). It then takes quite a long time (a couple of weeks) to sea ship large orders over from there (air shipping is very expensive, so most things will be sea shipped). The manufacturer then has to get these products in stock in their own location, check that everything's alright, then sort out orders from different distributors/shops. They then have to give shops/distributors quotes, send invoices, etc. The manufacturer or shop will then have to work out a quote from shipping companies and see who gives the best option. Once that's been finalised, the order will then be picked. If it's a large order this can take a while. Once it's all packed and good to go, it can be sent out. In the majority of cases shipping will generally take 7-10 days (from most manufacturers in any case). Once the order has been delivered to the shop/distributor, they then have to unpack it, check they've got what they ordered (), make sure it's not damaged () and so on. After they've done that, it can go 'live' on the website. That all takes a pretty long time. So no, it's not really anything to do with prices of parts or anything, it's literally just the time it takes to get stuff made/shipped/distributed/put online. DeVal
i know how long these things take to produce but within reason most companies would oreder new stock before the old runs out, unless the manufacturers are completly replacing there ranges then it makes sence to wait for the new versions.
