Gaz96
So getting new cranks for the MTB and thought these would be ideal, but I dont know what the opton of 83mm is... so if someone could give me a pointer as to what this is that'd be great! And one other thing, would these come with a BB or would I have to buy seprately? EDIT: realised this is in wrong section, so if someone could move it that'd be good Edited July 19, 2011 by Gaz96
Ali C
when it comes to cranks for mtb, Shimano just can't be beaten! Shimano SLX
Miles Mallinson
The 83mm part is the width of the bb shell, 83mm is found normally on downhill and freeride bikes. Most bikes are 68mm and can use a spacer for a 73mm bb. As said you can't beat shimano chainset on a mtb, I have a SLX on mine just now and they are great, they are strong and light I'd say they look better than the higher priced models aswell. Matthew62
Another vote for SLX's. Shall be putting some on my mountain bike in the coming months. Great price for a full dual ring set-up, and yes it comes with a BB.
