Pete.M
Hey, I'm looking to get a new helmet but i'm unsure as to what I want so can anyone give me some recommendations? Under £40 preferably. And what's your preference; Urban/dirt jump or XC style? Cheers.

Pete.M
Cheers, I think i'm swaying to the XC style helmets like that one, and it's a decent price. I've had the urban style before but i'm not so keen on them now.
Krisboats
After trying quite a few in shops a while back i found the giro hex to be a lovely fit. With helemts though, it's often best to go to a shop and try them on, as some look great but feel like crap when wearing them.

Matthew_Gibson
I had a Giro hex, that was mega comfy. but it got a bit shabby. Now got a Fox one, seems bit better than the Giro. I wouldn't have spent £70 normally. but it was a gift

J.KYDD
I found the Fox Flux helmets did'nt fit me at all Tried a 661 Recon on a while ago and it was perfect, so nice and light, ordered one up last week
NITROMAINIAC
Yeah I use a fox flux helmet, I don't even know I'm wearing it, aside from that it has a little extra protection around the back of the helmet. Alot of people say they don't fit them well but if you adjust all the straps (properly) which takes a good half hour of putting the helmet on and of in the end it does fit very nicely, most people wouldn't spend that much time adjusting straps in thier LBS though. I prefer the XC style lids for ALL my bicycle riding because they bassically offer the same level of protection as a skate style lid but has more vents and crumples upon impact not leaving you with a headache. Good luck.
ForrestDump
I've just swapped out my TSG Evo lid for a 661 Recon and I am very glad I did, the Recon is a hell of a lot lighter and you hardly notice you've got it on due to the weight and how comfortable it is, I would definitely recommend it. Greetings
Met Veleno. Not under 40 quid but well worth the extra money. It's very light, has good ventilation and looks great. Edited July 19, 2011 by Greetings
