one of the main issues I had with the levers was that the barrel adjuster doesn't actually thread into the lever body, it relies on the tension in the cable to keep it in place. I always had my brakes with minimal cable tension so the barrel adjuster used to slide in and out of the lever making the brake feel shit. My lever also got quite wobbly quite quickly.

What's your issue with maguras dude? I recently switched to v brakes because of my incessant fiddling with Maggys!

i ride oldschool bikes with 2 bolt mounts and and those evo kits are absolute garbage the cylinders dont stay put for long at the end of couple of rides the brake pads would be practically touching the rim and need resetting which is a royal pain, kinda hard to remember why we were so religious about them back in 2000 i swore by them

Yeah the Evo mounts are wank my old gt Lts has a set that I installed in 1999 and I've never had to adjust them but the ones on my trials bikes have been inbearable! Everything is just such a hassle with them! I lose interest if i fiddle more than ride lol

I never had an issue with my evo mounts, mind you i ditched the QR clamp and the floating booster and clamped the booster properly both sides and ran allen key Vee bolts on the main mounts. Made it the same as a 4 bolt mount really aside from being bulkier.

Try one before you buy it, the front Ultimate lever i used to run was uncomfortable as hell, the rear was a different story but that'd been bent a bit and is still by far the most comfortable lever i've ever owned.

Try and test one, somehow. It's a lot of money for something you might hate.

never tried it without a quick release to be honest i'll probably never go back now i have discs but i know alot of people would benefit from a mini tutorial video of your setup if you had the time
