N.Wood
Conti Rain King or Der Kaiser. Thats a fact not an opinion. If they won't fit in your frame, my preference is a 2.35 Maxxis Highroller dual ply super tacky. 2.5 is also good. For lighter weight, the Try-All stiky light is good
smithy83
maxxis highrollers or try alls have always been my choice of tyres couldnt ever fault them.good grip and nice bounce ive always found.never had any contis so cant give an opinion though but i do know alot of people use them and have good things to say about them. Greetings
Definitely not a Rubber Queen in case you were wondering, the roll on natural is just insane. Definitely something with thicker sidewalls like the dual ply Maxxis is a good choice.
forteh
My rain king is about 70% worn out now and still grips like nothing else, amazingly stable aswell and lighter than a 2.5 maxxis

echoteam9484
no, just no. why not ? basically i want something.....light....which isant going to give me punctures that much and not somethings which rock hard
casualjoe
why not ? basically i want something.....light....which isant going to give me punctures that much and not somethings which rock hard We would all like this too but weight and puncture resistance is generally a compromise. Schwalbes are good though, it's just they're a bit pricey and they wear out quick.
forteh
My rubber queen was actually not too bad for puncture resistance, certainly much, much better than a single ply maxxis. Only problem was it wouldnt grip that well unless it was at low pressure, unforturnately it would then be too unstable to use on anything remotely slanted/sideways. I really want to try one of the 2.3 black chilli barons though
Ali C
Shwalbes have really bad grip from my experience, the rubber compound "dries out" after a while too. A Conti De Kaiser just can't be beaten.
casualjoe
Yea Schwalbes last about 3 months so you'll be spending £160 a year on back tyres! Give the Baron 2.3 a try and let us know how it goes, looks like it may be a sick tyre
onzatrip
My big betty was 3 years old before I needed to replace it and still was epic
bikeperson45
I like the Maxxis Larsons, nice all round tyre me thinks.

J.KYDD
Im currently on a Try-All sticky lite and really like it. Super good on natural
craigjames
"Not sure if i would trust it on rail." hmmm Or any slightly damp surface! They're awful for any type of riding. Currently using a tryall stiky lite and it seems pretty awesome on all surfaces. Have to run slightly lower pressures compared to previous tyres due to the slightly thicker sidewalls, but puncture resistant seems really good.
