AndrewEH1
Bought myself an new Echo SL 108 freewheel last week. Started to thread it on to my crank and I heard a rattle. Gave it a shake and it sounds like there are some loose bearings? I'm not completely sure of the construction of these freewheels, but the rattle doesn't sound right. Advice? Edit: The freewheel seems to turn by hand with no problem, and no I haven't ridden on it. Edited June 29, 2011 by AndrewEH1
Azarathal
http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/complete_freewheels/echo_sl_108/c16p10864.html These freewheels may appear to 'rattle' from new - this is down to the bearing system. It would be possible to add an extra bearing in and stop the rattle, however this would then cause the freewheel to lock up!
