Jimbob 2705
Hi Guys, I am thinking of getting the following parts for the Custom 24" DJ/Street/Trials bike I am building : Trialtech 170mm ISIS Cranks : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/cranks_pair/trialtech_sport_forged/c514p10467.html Trialtech 22T Screw on Sprocket : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/screw_on_sprockets/trialtech_sport_screw_on/c73p10409.html Neon ISIS Bottom Bracket : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/isis_splined_bbs/neon_isis_with_bolts/c2p10840.html Does anyone know if these parts will fit together fine? Will I need to use a sprocket spacer? Also, what are the above parts like? Would they be ideal for what I want? Thanks and ATB James
Miles Mallinson
All the parts should fit fine. You won't need to use a spacer but you might want to get a bashring

I did have a quick look at Bash Rings, but I couldn't find one to fit a 22T sprocket?! What is the advantage of using a BashRing? Mikee
Thanks Milo! I did have a quick look at Bash Rings, but I couldn't find one to fit a 22T sprocket?! What is the advantage of using a BashRing? Thanks and ATB James There is a trialtech bashring coming out soon that will fit the 22T sprocket according to Mark W in his bike pic thread. The advantage of a bashring is that if you happen to land on it you don't bend or mess up the teeth of your front sprocket. Mark W
There is indeed - it's modelled quite closely on the older Inspired bashring which seemed to be pretty durable! The main reason for it is that if you happen to bonk your sprocket/chain on anything you're less likely to damage either the teeth on your sprocket or mash the links in your chain which should keep everything running well. They're relatively light too, so shouldn't really add too much weight if you're concerned about that sort of thing. Regarding the bits you mentioned in your first post, I've actually got that exact same crank/sprocket combo and it works fine. Can't see a problem with running it on that Neon BB either. Should have clearance for almost all frames/setups available.
