there is no excuse to wear lycra

a few inches against making a really cool sport looking gay as feck

sorry but no

ive asked random non-trials people about this and they dont care and some (usually women) say that it makes the sport look more serious/athletic

and anyway its much more comfortable to ride in tights

performance > fashion

I wanted to ride trials because of the trialskings and keita mostly

now I enjoy riders such as porter, ali c, kenny belaey, danny macaskill, damon watson etc

I don't car about fashion really

but part of my interst in trials, is how cool and fun it looks

lycra are too serious, they are for xc, roadbike and other boring riding styles

IMO (but it's just me) trials is more close to bmx or skate despite how hard it is to learn the skills

and I ve got nothing against comp, I have always wanted to try these, would have make my riding so much better actually

but I guess it's a big off topic I ve started, so I shut my mouth now :)

I wonder if your initial reaction to first seeing the original Ashton Justice frame was "gay as feck" because your mindset couldn't accept its geometry performance advantages over its strange looking appearance. Would be an interesting archive blog search to see how negatively those whom rejected its appearance first hand.

What if you're serious about comps.

Sure, for you riding is all about fun; and why not? But remember that some people (competition riders) see it as more of a sport in which to win, it must be taken seriousley.

comps are serious

and I can just imagine how much dedication it needs to be as good as gilles

but benito and kenny are as serious,

they win pretty often too

and they do not look like gay pornstar

but I m mostly concern about the image of the sport itself

no one has to decide what kind of cloth you want to wear

If you like lycra, then wear it, no big deal

just... it looks so goddamn lame...

imo it looks lame when people ride in jeans

I think it was marco grosenick who rode in jeans at 2006 euro champs...

I know what u mean

I had friends who were like u :)

I like the idea of riding in "nice" cloths such as jeans or cool shorts

it gives the fake feelings trials is kinda "easy"

I remember back in the day I was seduce by this idea

doing crazy bike stunts on rails and walls and make it look "casual"

different point of view I guess :)
