Magura Rim Brake

KNOBIS!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As most of you probably know i am a complete knobis and this is my first experience with magura rim brakes. My problem is that only the the left pad moves onto the rim normally.. the right hand pad doesnt move when you pull the lever and is rubbing slightly. How do i fix this?

Thanks, Aaron.

Make sure that when you set them up you've got the TPA wound so that the pads are as far back into the cylinder as possible, then make sure they are an equal distance away from the rim and that your rim is true. If you still have an issue of one pad moving before the other, you may have a lazy piston - do a search on how to fix that.

WD40 could help you

NOOOOOOO DO NOT PUT WD40 ON YOUR BRAKESSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

loosen the bolts on the clamps push both pads to touch the rim all the way then slightly pull the lever to make the slaves out slightly then tighten the botls up and adjust the red thing on your lever not sure what its called untill the brake feels right for you, hope this helps

unless you wanna die dont put wd40 on your brakes for god sake and a rim grind isn't going to make the pads move in either, see the magura youtube page they have a helpfull tutorial on there i believe

Not on the brake but on the piston to stop it being lazy
