Blake
Is the alex DX32 19" rim as strong and long lasting as tarty make them out to be? Really want a super tough rim. Thank you!
Julius Czar
Yeah, bombproof. A mate of mine drilled one himself, and it was still super strong! Only Problem is that they're quite narrow, if you can, try and get hold of a trialtech undrilled rim or one of those try-all street ones, they'll hold up, and they're wider if you have a wide frame
Matthew62
No, they lie just to get your money - they're true die-hard business men only in it for the profit margins!
eskimo
Exceptionally good for the money. I've ran several models and they've always been good. I wish the DX32 was still in production for all sizes.
Blake
I don't mind the thinner profile as I struggle fitting any tyre with tread in my frame as it is only thing is the front rim will be wider than the rear!
forteh
My rear one is drilled 18mm and weighs 645g, thats only 20g odd heavier than most of the superlight singlewall rims, you can pretty safely drill one out to 22-23mm without massively compromising the strength of the rim. My front one is singlewalled and square holed and weighs 512g, that is lighter than all but one of the front rims on tarty and 7mm wider to boot! The only time Ive bent one was when 4 spokes snapped and pringled the rim, new spokes and its pulled straight goood as new again; they also hold a grind exceptionally well
