Sprog! Mikee
The Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal is also ok. REC The Shining (but its does take ages to get started properly) The Exorcist The origional Halloween, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on elm street. The rest in those franchises aren't too great, but some are ok. Halloween is my favourite of those. I didn't like the origional Texas Chainsaw Massacre but I quite liked the remake. Paranormal Activity 2 is good. I didn't think much of the 1st one. Saw and Scream 1 but you have probably already seen these. Oh and Club Dread is also definatley one to watch! Endohopper
At the risk of sounding both old and elitist - horror is best when read since it's more psychological than visual except for cheap shocks and unexpected s**t jumpin' out at you .

Agreed, I find most 'horror' films these days just arent scary, I find generally down to crap acting and directing Normally if Im watching a horror I expect it to be crap, that way Im occasionally pleasantly suprised. IMHO the unknown is far scarier than what you can see jumping at you, let your imagination work its magic; thats why Ridley Scott kept the alien hidden for so long in alien Watched case39 a couple of weeks ago which was alright, more of a thriller than a horror though. Some off the top of my head if you havent seen them.... Alien Dog Soldiers Event Horizon The Ruins (not an amazing film but an ok watch, better to acquire a copy ) The Exorcist Seen loads more but cant recall off the top of me head. I've only seen the second one and that scared me enough, hate those freaky little Asian kids. Bet those acters freak everyone out where ever they go. Ben Swales
I agree fully with the 'it's what you don't see that scares you'. Films like Saw aren't scary, just disgusting. A great film that had be on the edge of my seat and ready to jump out of my skin was 'El Orfanato' (The Orphanage); it's in Spanish, but well worth the extra effort for reading the subtitles. ellingtj
^^^ Yep the orphange was good, also Tale of Two Sisters (Korean). REC was no new terroritory (look I just made up a word) but was highly effective. Wolf Creek (Australian) is another good one. I'm still yet to see Dark Water. chimpanzyyyy
last pretty good one I saw was "the hill have eyes" not the best one but pretty violent and impressive it's actually a remake the ring was really good aswell, the us version I mean good horror movies are pretty rare IMO most of them are just hilarius because of the cheezy monsters and useless gore scenes

(Truly shit my pants) Blair Witch IT The Decent Im more into psychological films that play with my mind rather than gore and stuff. Ones that make me run like my life depended on it up the stairs in the dark, with only the light on my phone to save me hahaha.
