rocky111
I just got hold of a 06 Zoo Pitbull frame of ebay, all seems to be ok, but when I fitted Magur HS33 brakes on the back, I found that the cranks knock against the brakes every pedal stroke. I have adjusted the brakes in as far in as they can go without completely locking up the wheel but the cranks still hit them an ideas? has anyone else had a similar problem? Rockman
What cranks have you got ?
isitafox
If the cranks are only catching by a small amount then get a grinder or file and take a bit out the back edge of them. There's been quite a few people on here who've done it in on here and it won't make your cranks any weaker.
mrBENN
Get a longer bottom bracket? That way it would take your cranks further out and away from the brake calipers. Edited June 19, 2011 by mrBENN
stephenmx50
I have a ZOO Piranha which i had the exact same problems on, if its just rubbing a little then as said above file/grind away a small amount on the back of the crank arms. Check your clearance when you put a new set of padds in as if you have an old set in there when you replace the pads the cylinders will be even further out. With mine i had to buy a new set of cranks, check the offset of your cranks, i brought a set of the trialtech sport cranks from tarty as they have one of the largest offsets around 34mm. New Bottom bracket might work but if the cotrrect size one is in there at present i would go down the new cranks road.. Hope this helps... Revolver
My middleburns do this on my because. Middleburns are bad for this, changing cranks is an option. If you're not using a 128mm BB, get one.
