Martin Reynolds
Like the title says, do 19" Try all rims hold their grind well? These ones : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/19_inch_rims/tryall_rear_19/c517p237.html Ive gotta go for a wider rim, ive gotten to the point where ive fully adjusted my slave cyclinders in, and my tpa (and have cross threaded the tpa before) Cheers Guys
forteh
Only used the 26" of that typre from 5-6 years ago and they were pretty soft aluminium, grinds would go dull quite quickly; Im not sure if they have changed the grade of alloy or not since though. edit: if you want a long lasting grind and a strong rim, get a dx32, a bit narrower at 38mm though, dont know how that compares to your current rim. I use a 26" dx32 on the rear with a conti rain king and never have any instability issues, I only have about 2mm of pad left and still loads of movement spare Edited June 15, 2011 by forteh
dirt jumper jake
Had one of them before, thought it was crap. go for a tryall or rockman h0le rim, mine are brilliant.
J.KYDD
Dont think so. The HOLE rims are great though, hold grinds really well
wip-bikes
Iv ran try all rims for the past 4-5 years and they have always performed well for me. A few years ago doing demos every week, i would only grind up every other month or so and that was just trough routine maintenance of the bike. davidbarr
Nope, not for me. Grind is usually dead within two weeks or so.

Dont wanna spend like £50 on a rim, and they look kinda weak. id rarther go for a double wall rim as im not the smoothest/lightest rider. So general consensus, dont hold grind? Krisboats
So general consensus, dont hold grind? Nope, lame rims for holding a grind.
isitafox
How about an Echo TR?
Matthew_Gibson
Iv had 2 tryall rims and a grind will last about 2 weeks. Where as Echo Urban rims will last about 2 months before I have to regrind it.
Martin Reynolds
How about an Echo TR? Yeh, basically looking for a drilled dual wall rim which is wider than 38mm and that holds a grind. U had experience with echo Tr's? Iv had 2 tryall rims and a grind will last about 2 weeks. Where as Echo Urban rims will last about 2 months before I have to regrind it. Arnt the Echo urban and TR very similar? Urban is slightly wider and has bigger holes?
Dave Anscombe
ive always ran try all rims..Just recently switched to an echo tr and ive noticed that the grind feels stronger sharper thats down to the grade of aluminum. go for an echo tr...44mm thick plenty of grind life and they are strong!
