peggysue
ive started to notice the stock frames getting lighter and lighter ....that maybe ok for some but what about us heavier people who want something beefier? frames seem to be around 1.6kg on average now, im worried if i purchase a new frame it wont last 2 months... wheres the 2kg frames gone:(
SamKidney
Seems to be the trend set by the companies now. One company sells well with their lighter frames, others lose out because no-one buys theirs. So in an effort to sell frames again, they make their frames lighter. Seems like its turned into a competition as to who builds the best/ lighest frames now. Shame really. Although the new Zoo! 20" is out anytime now....... SamKidney
Speaking of how "bombproof" the old frames were, My 06 Python has a mammoth crack half way around the downtube and growing as of tonight

peggysue
No chance , my mate bought it about 8 months ago rode it few times (not a big rider though) sold it to me about 4 weeks ago . Was in near new condition and hes not a basher at all so I got a good frame really . I'm heavy and I knew the frame was light and thought it won't last long and tonight my fear of breaking it came true lol . Just heard a big bang in the front end when I landed and there's a nice crack on the front under gusset . It's easily weldable but I'd rather sell it on and buy something stronger
