DeVal
hi just got a pair of these and im trying 2 adjust the pad spacing but the screws on both of them are incredibly tight and without forcing them wont move (i dont wana force them) has anyone else had this issue with them? there is still plenty of thread to go into the level but just cant turn the damn things easily! davidbarr
What exactly are pad adjusters?
trials owns
do u mean the twistable black tpa behind the lever? yeah they are stiff to start with and i had the same problem, just twist alittle harder and it should go! oh btw its best to set the brake up without using it. isitafox
The tpa's are tight when new but they soon loosen up, though you shouldn't need to use the tpa to set the brake up!
Sam T
If you pull it out, you can slot a 5 mm allen key into it and turn it with that.
DeVal
thanks for the replys guys. im NOT setting the brake up with the adjusters! im just fiddling around so i know how much pad life i can get when my pads do wear down. TNN LGMS dont come cheap so the longer i can use them the better! although a bodge may be needed with my thin rims lol
DeVal
right another question. when i shorten the hoses i wanted 2 check first that the bleed fittings are the same size as the old style?
isitafox
The one in the lever body isn't but if you do it right they shouldn't need bleeding after being shortened, just have to be really careful not to knock the hose after it's been cut so you don't lose any fluid! DeVal
right so can you get bleed fittings for the lever? i will have to bleed them at some point. may have to do my overfill trick on the back aswell. i like nice tight levels lol
isitafox
Sorry I missread that last post, I believe the bleed fittings are all the same as are the hose fittings except for the barbed fitting that goes into the lever blade! May be worth giving Tartybikes a call though just to be sure!
DeVal
right ive looked more clodely at the level bleed port and i removed the little black cap but what now? there are no grub screms behind it? surely there is a bleed kit for this brake right? DeVal
only issue i can see is that i only have one syringe. ill have to prop the back wheel up and fill it in reverse lol should still work though as long as the oil drains out of the highest point.
