Always had vee's or mags and thinking about a front hope mini, i have a 6 bolt hub and fatty r forks, couple of nooby questions

do you have to have a disc rim is it reccomended?

what number caliper do i need if i want to use a 160mm rotor eg the hope trials one and would it work with a normal mini mono

Disk rim just refers to a rim not having a normal breaking surface. Swapping to a disk rim will cost money and provide zero benefit, it will also mean you'd need to change wheel should you choose to go back to a rim break at any time.

I believe the Fatty R have a standard mount so a #5 caliper would allow you to use a 160 rotor. You may want to verify this bit though.

what if i was to use a 180mm rotor... no6 caliper?
