Removing Sprocket 20"

Hi,

Got a vice bolted to a bench, got a chain wrapped round the sprocket and the trailing ends tight in the vice.

Spinning it anti-clockwise, jolting it too, and it just wont budge!

Followed the Tartybikes tutorial exactly.

The blady thing just wont come off, any tips?

Cheers,

Danny.

more people.

This, my cousin had a mission trying to get my 15t sprocket off an old wheel at his bike shop. The winning team consisted of him, the other lad from the shop, my uncle and a 6ft bar!

How much would it normally cost for someone to take it off for you?

Roughly?!?

Our local bike shop was useless, he tried taking it off with a chain wrap tool (and ignored my advice to use an old piece of chain). I went up to my mates workshop and did it 5 minutes in a vice.

Your doing it correct, like everyone says, u just need more man power :)

Yeah guna try it when my dad gets home.

Got a really weak bmx chain though, that has snapped 4 times whilst trying to it! Haven't got a stronger spare one :

Turn the wheel anti-clockwise right?

That won't work.

Sounds like you have got enough force now if you are snapping the chain. Bunch the chain up into a 'triangle' and sit that against the vice jaws, that will stop it from snapping.
