dirt jumper jake
Yo, erm yeah im putting my new 2011 pure together But the bolts i have for the rear mounts at the moment are too long, There echo TR mounts & ive measured the bolt and there 25mm long. Would 20mm ones be too short? Failing that tarty sell some m5x23mm Ti ones, but i think they would be too long aswell Could some one point me in the right direction please? forteh
Chop them down - 5 minutes with a hacksaw and file and you will have them all the right length Learn how to file the threads again so they arent closed up and ruin your new frame! ForrestDump
I had this problem too, I just screwed them in as far as they would go, measured how much was still sticking out, then used a hack saw to trim the amount I had measured off of the end, then de-burred the end down with a file so it would screw into the thread smoothly. Just take little bits off at a time until you have the desired length.
Rockman
Just stick a nut on the bolt, cut the threads then take the nut off, clears the threads, should work.
