Computer Geeks! I Need You.

Anybody here a computer geek/nerd? I am a self confessed but my knowledge is limited - I need some advice on a gaming PC please (desktop/tower only, no ancillaries)! Main uses will be playing games such as Crysis 2 on Extreme settings at 1900x1200 resolution (maximum) and also multi-tasking, 3D-Modelling and Graphic Design.

I'm after something along the lines of;

- i5 Quad-Core Processor (Overclockable to 4.0-4.5GHz)

- 8GB 1333mhz DDR3 RAM

- Radeon 6950 2GB Graphics Card

Now where I'm stuck is what motherboard to get, power supply, cooling (considering this machine will be overclocked, and the GPU also) etc. Does anyone know of a pre-made bundle or something of similar spec? I've been hard pressed to find a rig that's quite right considering a lot of PCs are running the GTX 560Ti 1GB and saying it's near enough just as good as the 6950. Although if I got the 6950 I would most certainly flash the BIOS to unlock the 6970 shaders.

I don't know what to do!

My budget is £600-£700.

Perhaps something like this?

Im not really up to speed on modern hardware any more but I will say this

My core i3 @4.05ghz with 4 gig ram and a gtx260 216 core runs crysis2 at 1600x1200 perfectly smoothly on the medium setting, it plays on extreme pretty well but dips down to about 30 fps in places.

Get a pre-overclocked bundle from ocuk and you cant go wrong :)

Thanks for the advice buddy, I just managed to find a perfect system with almost the exact spec I wanted and have bought it. Specs are;

- Intel i5 Quad Core 2500k (3.3Ghz)

- 8192MB DDR3 i5 Dual Channel 1333MHz RAM

- ASUS P8P67 Pro B3 Motherboard (SLi & Crossfire Compatible)

- 2TB 7200 32MB Cache Internal HDD

- ATI Radeon 6950HD 2GB Graphics Card

I'll install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, perhaps overclock it to 4.0-4.5GHz depending on core temps etc. and reflash the BIOS on the 6950HD to make it a 6970HD. Beauty of it is I can always SLi/Crossfire another (unlocked) 6950HD graphics card in there at a later date if it struggles with anything.

Regarding cpu, get a sandy bridge socket 1155. a 2500k would be perfect and is good for overclocking. Cooling, get a corsair h series watercooler such as h50/60. A good case is a cooler master storm scout, and make sure you don't skimp on the power supply, Corsair/ be quiet are good.

Get yourself signed up to the ebuyer forums, www.ebuyer.com and you'll get some great help there regarding what to buy, overclocking etc....

Oh, and for gaming, a ssd is a must for some people. Just another thing to think about.
