Greetings
Recently got involved in building up a superlight Piranha, this is the result (apart from the cranks which were meant to be SL but Echo decided not to make them anymore): Click image for lots of pics. Greetings
Target was sub 8kg, I think it's around 8.15 with these cranks.
Sam T
Looks lovely! You could loose some weight with cutting the steerer down though. How is that Echo Disk getting on? Do you like it? Thanks, Sam.
Canardweb
That could be way lighter, tires, rims, front brake... But it's one of the best looking bike I have ever seen Edited May 21, 2011 by Canardweb
Greetings
Bonz rims are the lightest trials rims currently on sale. Tyres are around 450g front and 650g rear. Can't imagine using anything lighter without risking snakebites on every move?
Canardweb
Front tire could be lighter then. Front HS33 would be lighter. Anyway, it's just awesome looking as it is now, so don't change anything
Rockman
I use mountain king 2.4 supersonic on the back, has had 1 snake bite in about 6 months, and a 400g speedking 2.1 supersonic on the front, has never snake bitten and sometimes im surprised it hasn't. How is that rear rim ?

Anyway, it's just awesome looking as it is now, so don't change anything yea try-all lite tyre on the frount i now they dont last long but there still light or kenda small block eight there about 20g heaveyier but £30 odd quid cheaper, and a hs33 frount brake would be lighter but you might perfer that frount disk, but that is a nice looking bike. konstant
Love this bike. What lens? Some really nice shots but that DOF looks pretty hard to work with! Edited May 22, 2011 by konstant
Canardweb
pretty much the same as viz single wall. So they don't hold a grind and dent easily? You could get it lighter still with a front v brake! Yes! I forgot that option yea try-all lite tyre on the frount i now they dont last long but there still light or kenda small block eight there about 20g heaveyier but £30 odd quid cheaper, and a hs33 frount brake would be lighter but you might perfer that frount disk, but that is a nice looking bike. dirt jumper jake
Try all shift are heavy as hell! I thought of Kenda Karma... Try a Kenda small block eight, ridiculously light & can run them really low and get megaaaaaa grip

ForrestDump
That’s a beauty. What’s your opinion on the tyre combo your running at the mo as I was thinking about getting a Queen and King for my Fans build.
Greetings
This isn't my bike but a bike I built up. Can't comment on the 2.2 RQ. I run a very similar combo on my Piranha and it's ok. The front tyre has no rigidity at all and pinches very easily. Grip is good. The rear tyre (2.4 RQ) isn't too stiff either but bounces very well. Grip is good but not as good as from a 70a DHF in my opinion.
ForrestDump
Alright cheers for the feedback, I'll continue my hunt for a tyre combo for my 26" build then, or at least a different front tyre to buy.
