To be fair there isnt really alot of performance difference between acera, deore, LX and XT brakes prehaps a tad stiffer or a gram or 2 lighter. I've heard alot of stories about avid's not lasting long and the springs being SHITE! I've used all of the above metioned shimano v brakes over the years and i wouldnt use anything else!
