taking the wiper blades off from a MkIV VW Golf?

the blades should just clip out, the arms that hold them on, take the nut off, obviously, tap the side of the arm pretty hard a few times, then just try and work it, failing that, you can buy a wiper arm puller for like £5-10. which hooks behind the arm and presses onto the spindle to pull it off.

ive done it before myself levering a screwdriver against a plate of steel held on the glass to spread the load, but im not going to advise this is, as its a sure fire way to ruin the screen.

Cheers mate. Gave it all that but they didn't budge. My dad sauntered home and got the bastards off in a couple of seconds! Giving them a tug and tapping the thread itself with a hammer and they came right off.
