Gutted for you dude - that frame's done UberGood things for your riding over the last few months!

Depends on whether or not you've got decent penetration with the weld ;)

Why is it that every you say has a sexual second meaning? :P

Im pretty sure even with decent penetration, its the weakest point

If you have sexual thoughts about me I'd prefer it if you kept them to yourself in future.

Welded alu isn't always so strong, but in the case of steel it's usually stronger than the base material ;)

Well that opens the crate of what grade material your welding, what wire/stick your using, blah blah blah.

But what im trying to say is ive always seen it snap at the weld line, steel and alu, so J.KYDD is pretty special ^_^

Unlucky fella, looked like a really nice ride aswell.

Luke and the other guy that was talking about why it cracked there, think about this-

Is the bb yoke a single machined part? If so, the torque put down through pedalling will be the cause of it cracking, continuous flexing with aluminium equals..... you know where i'm going :P.

Bad joint design (Y) probably bob all to do with the weld, especially if other people are saying thats where their's went :).

Thought i'd share the knowledge.

Cheers,

Josh.

NIce looking bike , you could get that welded, if the material it's not craked only the weld itself it's a easy fix, will hold for some months of good riding. If not, get that hydroxx 2, i ride one myself and i'm very pleased with it, improved my riding alot, coming from an 09 control.Wish you the best, let us know what you decided :) .
