Trials Punk
Hi all, Need to get myself a new lever, was looking into getting one of the new HS33 levers. My question is, with the new lever design is there the same amount of TPA adjusment with the lever? The reason I ask is when I set my brake up, I always find that the lever bites too soon and I cannot move the cylinders out any furhter due to the cranks hitting them :~ So I usually compensate by having the TPA wound all the way in. Mark W
There's a reasonable amount of adjustment. They feel really stiff at first which seems to make a lot of people think they don't move at all, but once they wear in they've got a lot to give! casualjoe
There's a bit less adjustment on the 2011s. I'd suggest not buying one of these as they snap very easily if you drop your bike.
Mark W
Which part 'snaps very easily', out of interest? The body itself is stronger...
casualjoe
Yea the body snaps, it seems pretty brittle plus the lever pivot pin is very thin putting a lot of stress directly on the body. Its all nice having a stiff lever pivot until you drop your bike, (on something really small and retarded ) Edit: Not brittle as such, just generally weak as p*ss. Mark W
Sounds pretty strange - haven't heard of anyone breaking the actual body yet (only heard of a couple of people bending/snapping lever blades). How tight were you doing them up out of interest? With the newer style clamps they seem to clamp tighter with less bolt tension if that makes sense... casualjoe
Yea the clamp area is really nice, I also like the new TPA adjuster. It snapped where the lever pivot pin is held at each end by the main body.
Martin Reynolds
I think the new clamp design is the only decent part of the new 2011 range :L
casualjoe
They are great feeling levers, really precise, they just need a larger diameter pin and the body would take it much better. put up a more clear image.
