Luke Dunstan
Avid BB7 all the way, never faltered. Beautiful brake.
315r
I did a poll more or less like this not far away including other options like magie. The option of BB7 was widely supported... Super strong bite and response and easier to pull than Hope, but a little bit weak, seems like some people have snapped the calliper. Finally I get a Hope 180mm and after 2 riding's I'm very happy with it. Edited May 3, 2011 by 315r
Carlperkins
ill second a bb7, great brakes. plus you can always lengthen and change cables etc without all the mess of bleeding. im running maggy hs33's at the moment but if i had to change id go for bb7's

Martin Reynolds
I prefer hydraulic, lighter feel, Ive got a hope tech lever, and on the fly bite and reach adjustment is just awesome. But ive heard ALOT of good reviews about the BB7 Edited May 3, 2011 by Martin Reynolds
Matt Vandart
BB7 on the front is mental once the pads have bedded in, awesome bite and hold. Be careful it can and will send you over the bars if you are not.

Scott Gibbs
I've had 3 hope brakes now and had NOTHING but problems with em and i wont use them again. Many folks on here use them no worries though. Genuinely the nicest brake i've used in years is the shimano SLX. Power, modulation, feel all in all fantastic and have the added bonus of EPIC shimano reliablity. Hayes are good but a little wooden, Magura louise's are good not as powerfull as a hope though. If reliability, lightness, simplisity and power are what your after bb7 with an sd7 lever is where its at mate.
trialsmax04
on my MTB I wouldnt go neer BB7's or cable brakes (currently running the new SLX brakes). But for trials I prefer the cable brakes. Currently running a BB7, kicks the ass of my old Hope and magura (didng like front maggy as i live on a hill!). I wouldnt be worried at all about going for a Vee on the back either. raiden
Heres my opinion, although i am a begginer at trial biking i can say something through simple physics. Well, i am currently using magura julies on both back and front and theyre awsome except for the lack in modulation, i would really like some bite point control but whatever. The thing is hydraulics simply multiplies your "pulling force" and is therefore just more effective in terms of force then cable, its just pure physics you know, hydraulics just have bigger force, as simple as that ;D so whatever you want, maybe you should try dual disk something if you like silence, i dent regret it. Just my opinion and im a begginer so take this is mind hehe... Good luck Edit: oh and i also had try-all mechanic brakes, but cables just dont generate enough power so i got julies. I never tried bb7 or anything like that though so i cant comment about it. Edited May 3, 2011 by raiden
