Themistoklidis
My brake lever exploded while i was riding today! The small bolt on the lever disappeared and left me with a lousy rear brake and contaminated front drisk pads as the brake liquid dripped on the disk brake!!!The question is what do you suggest i bleed it with?brake fluid or bath bleed(i have never bled maguras before or another hydraylic brake)?Another solution would be to get rid of the maggies and get a Vee...Do you think its a good idea or the maggie is better? Thanks,Themis. Edited April 30, 2011 by BikeTrialsInGreece

Martin Reynolds
DONT bleed it with brake fluid, you'll kill the seals. Water is fine
bikeperson45
DONT bleed it with brake fluid, you'll kill the seals. I'm pretty sure that brake fluid is made not to kill the seals?
DeVal
dont use car grade brake fluid!!! lol if your going too use oil go for either the magura brand (expensive) or find out the viscosity(how thick it is) of the magura oil and find an alternative. ive never used water personnally but i beleive it is a good alternative. just make sure you have a nice size seringe so you can punp it through until there are no air bubbles coming out the other end. Shaun H
I'm pretty sure that brake fluid is made not to kill the seals? I think he means use mineral oil instead of any DOT or similar fluid.
