Need Help Buying Some Bits

right, ive not really been buying stuff for a while, and decided my bike needs some serious work done to it.

ive always used either the kmc kool chain or the khe collapse chain, was going to buy another collapse, but apparently they arent on tarty anymore, i need a strong chain as i kill them pretty quickly. any suggestions?

same with pads, on the front ive always had crms, but they are dead now, and i dont really think metal backings are essential on the front, so been looking at the atomz pads link but dont know anything about them, nothing in the pad review thread. they will be on a light grind on the front.

need a rear tyre too, always had minions for the puncture protection, but recently finding them to be more and more dead, with no real bounce, so im after a tyre with alot of bounce with good puncture protection.

this is all for 26" by the way. cheers lads, hope i get some decent responses

I think most people are using those kmc/trialtech "lite" chains. Ive found them to be stronger than the kool chains. They don't seem to stretch much!

Heatsink yellows are supposed to be good on a dead grind. You can get with with or without metal backings.

Ive just moved to stock so I don't know much about the tires but I'm using a der keiser at the moment and its brilliant! Better grip, stability and puncture resistance than any other mod tire I've used.

My personal choice would be: -

KMC Z610HX chain (trialtech or kmc).

Heatsink yellow refills to fit your cnc backings.

Der kaiser fits the bill, awesome grip, stability and puncture resistance, I believe the kaiser is slightly bouncier than the rain king. Possibly look at the new 2.3 baron when they come out, supposed to be a smaller, lighter rain king.

:)

edit: lmao exactly what has already been said :D

okay, so yellows and the lite chain, sounds good

do you not think 56 quid is a hell of alot for a tyre though?

Unfortunately yes :(

However, I believe theyre much longer lasting than a comparable maxxis offering whilst gripping better. I got my rain king off bigman for 20 quid, whilst its probably 70% worn now its still unbelievably grippy and holds in positions it shouldnt be able to, rab shropshire had a ruck load of kaisers for sale, have a look and he might have some left :)

Trial-tech lite chains are decent? i used one for over a month and had to adjust the wheel about 6 times because of how much it stretched got the kmc kool 3/32 now and i've only had to adjust the wheel because of chain stretch 3 times.

The der kaiser tire is worth it buying though and it is bouncyier than the rain king, grips just mega carnt be faulted, it is worth £55

I have a friend who has the atomz pads on the rear with a dead grind and there not set up the best but they work pretty good, i think they'd be awesome on a light grind on the front.
