Themistoklidis
I was looking for a new bottom bracket bearing and i came across some external bottom bracket.A quick search on google didnt came up with anything good. Im interested in this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=57954 or this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=40921 or this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=38345 ! Which one do you recomend? As far as the spindle is concerned,it works like a bmx-type bb?I have to buy it separatelly? And im guessing that the isis cranks i own at the momment wont fit... Thanks,Themis
ross87
External BB's are stiffer than an ISIS or square BB as in they do not flex from side to side when applying pressure on the pedals. An external BB will require a certain type of crank to fit them, as you said your existing cranks will not fit. The crank you will need to fit would be a type like this:My link This type of crank has the axle attached to the drive side crank arm and will slide through the BB. Hope this sheds some light on your question for you. Ross
AlexxRogers
Didn't Echo do an external BB for trials ages ago? Maybe you can get hold of one of those?
