Crooked Rear Wheel

Recommended Posts

Anyone got an idea what this is/ how it could have happend?

Rear wheel is leaning a bit strangely Don't really know how to describe it, but here are pics [including distances] of the left and the right side.

Hope you understand the pictures.. I just can't explain things for sht :/

The wheel just seems strangely slanted. I've no idea what it could be or how to get rid of it. If i tighten the wheel it only gets worse (isn't tightened in the pics.) It isn't the chain tensioner either that pulls it over.

Can't set my pads up well like this as I hardly can mount my left maggie out far enough and one end of the pad is constantly touching the rim because of the crooked wheel.

Any ideas to what it might be?

Search didn't give me any results.

Thanks :)

Please ask if you don't get what i mean..

Generally speaking this would be a twisted frame. Put your bike upside down, take out the front wheel and take a photo through the forks so we can see. also try and upload the photos in a higher res.

0.o the photos should have been an imageshack link. Sorry about that. -> edited!

Will do that tomorrow now!

Yes, it's got vertical ones. I've cleaned them, cleaned the wheel, tried flexing the frame a bit whilst putting the wheel in, but I can't get the wheel in further. Mech hanger also is new so it can't be that blocking it.

It isn't sooo croked, but it was increasing last week... :ermm:

Edit:

Not sure how well you can see, but it seems the right side is bent upwards by roughly 2mm. Not much, but it makes a bigger difference than you think when you see it move. Still hoping the balcony floor isn't flat though :P

Got no idea how i managed that. Got the bike for 13months now, no real abuse as it's my first trials bike.

Hay man.

Might be a twisted frame, or might just be that one drop out is slightly deeper than the other. Its tricky to measure either. There could be just more paint in the top of the drop out perhaps? Have you tried putting the wheel in the opposite way around? that could eliminate a bent axel or show that its just one of the drop outs?

Hope this helps.
