Sam T
Hey guys, Im constantly thinking ahead of myself and trying to plan out my future. I'm always thinking about what/who I will be in 10 years. Where i will be in 10 years and whats i will be doing, whether If i will have a successfull careers ect. Obviously you can't fully see yourself in 10 years, but where would you like to see yourself? Hopefully i will be living the dream in Australia, have a comfortable job, nice car girlfriend ect. Not have any debt or in trouble with money. Hopefully i will still be riding Bike Trials or maybe even Moto Trials. Hopefully this doesn't come across as completely weird. What about yourself? Sam. Fish-Finger-er
I am the opposite, I try not to think any more than a year ahead. where will I be in 10 years?? I havn't got a clue, hopefully not injured and still riding. pretty much this. minus the injury and riding bit. Honestly, in the last 18 months since I turned 22, I feel Ive had more than I had in the 4 years running up to that, its almost like stuff has just clicked into place and I see atuff in a different light, and because of that, everything else has just kind of fitted round that and fell into place. if youd asked me what id be doing in 2 years time, 18 months ago, I dont think I'd be even close to guessing right, and even now, 6 months from now, I dont have a clue what will be happening, and im not sure I want to know. On the grand scheme of things, life is very temporary, its the longest thing well have, but we dont know how long it will last for so to plan what your going to do with it, when it could be over any moment, is a bit of a waste. I realise that sounds really down and morbid, but its completely the opposite, do what makes you happy and what you want to do now, dont sacrifice happiness now for your planned happiness in the future, as you may not be here for it, or on a slightly less serious issue, things may not work out the way you planned. JDâ„¢
I'll be 34 so I plan to be married, have kids and be settled down moreso than I am now. To get there I need to make my business work, which will also allow me to invest in the other ideas pottering around my head.

bikeperson45
I've been thinking about this tonnes recently, as it's almost time to sort out university applications and all that (if I do go...). Only thing I can think of career wise is teaching at the moment, one major reason being the holidays And hopefully still riding but being way better then I am now. Sam T
I've been thinking about this tonnes recently, as it's almost time to sort out university applications and all that (if I do go...). Exactly the same as me pal! I have all of my GCSE's coming up at the moment. I'm trying my hardest in school to pay attension and really taking this all quite seriously. There's people in my class that sometimes i look at and think to myself I'd love to see what they end up doing with their lives - Both headphones in, texting and being rude. Once all my GCSE's are all sorted im going to have to start really thinking about what i want to do. I have a rough idea what i would like to do - Something practical like engineering, or carpentry. I need to get myself down into some Convention days at my local collages to see what they have to offer. I dont want go to work having to work, i want to go to work wanting to do something i enjoy, and get paid for it.
Ali C
never at any point in my life have I ever known what I want to do, not when doing exams (not that I did any mind) never going through collage not even now. sometimes I am jealous of people who have goals, but not all the time. Personally i think he should be tought in a different part of the schoool because he is just wasting toher peoples time and he doesnt care, oh well, he's the only one who will regret it Good topic idea

I'm training to be a D&T teacher at Nottingham Trent. So don't just think that hes going to be a waster for the rest of his life. Exactly the same as my Grandad. Had a talk with him earlier on and he was saying how he came out of school with 1 GCSE which was DT. He slaved his ass off knowing that if he didnt he was going to be a 'waster'. Now looking at him - 2 Nice cars, lovely house and a big bunch of friends. He's loving life! Miles Mallinson
I haven't got a clue really, its either go to college to study either photography/film or product design, then its a plumbing apprenticeship which would be good because I'll actually earn money and I can go anywhere in the world with that. I hate making decisions or something I really want to do is work in a bike shop but I've been told thats pretty boring but all I want to do is fix bikes that would be what I'd like to see myself doing in 10 years time. I do that except the opposite, I watch people that do work hard. There's one girl who seems to be able to do everything, sports, socialize and all that as well as get amazing grades. Part of me hates her (part=majority) mainly from doing exams and seeing her write pages in a matter of minutes when I'm still reading the title. I'm training to be a D&T teacher at Nottingham Trent. Hadn't thought of doing it straight after 6th form, how'd you get to that point you are now? g I really want to do is work in a bike shop but I've been told thats pretty boring but all I want to do is fix bikes that would be what I'd like to see myself doing in 10 years time. I'd hate working in a bike shop so much. I'm awful at maintenance, the thought of having to do it all day for other people's bikes almost makes me cry (exaggerating slightly), wish I was more mechanical Looks like I've done a little quote rampage Edited April 24, 2011 by bikeperson45
Greetings
There was a topic like this back in 2006 if I'm not mistaken. Somebody bumped it a few months ago to ask how we were doing with our plans since half of the 10 years had passed. And how surprised people were when they saw that their lives had gone in completely the opposite direction. I couldn't even believe what my plans were in 2006. I know what I want to do in life now so hopefully in 10 years time I'll still be running a business or two; statistically speaking I should be married and have kids as well. But most of all I hope my dad will still be alive. He'll be 84.
isitafox
I was like Ali, no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Went to college for 3 months (not counting what I skipped) on a course I only took as a last resort as I really didn't want to go to college as I couldn't really plan for something I didn't know. Currently married with kids and a pretty secure job (that I'd never considered doing before) so all I can hope in 10yrs time is that I've paid my debts off, hopefully own my own house with a car I want rather than a car that's right for the job and my 2 sons (maybe more) are doing something they enjoy with there free time which I can be involved in (read as trials!).
